3 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 04.10.2017 Welcome back everyone! We have had a wonderful start to the term and have been delighted to welcome some new faces to our Pre-Prep community. Our new boys have settled in beautifully and are coping extremely well with the routines and expectations of school life. I would like to thank all our parents for the very supportive role they have played in helping with this. As you know our topic approach ensures that learning is really brought to life for the children and this term is no exception! The boys in Years 1 and 2 were thrilled to meet Captain Bloodheart who came to Pre-Prep to issue a challenge that began their topic on Pirates. The photographs show his visit to each class. The boys at the Manor have begun their exciting topic about animals with a visit from ‘Appreciating Animals’. They had the opportunity to learn about, handle and feed many different animals and the photographs that follow show the fun they all had! We have all enjoyed the sunny autumn weather and have been out and about in our beautiful school grounds. The boys at the Manor enjoyed collecting ‘treasures’ on an autumn walk and they have also been exploring in our woods, including taking a risk to climb trees. The boys in Year 1 and 2 helped to harvest a wonderful crop of apples and then used the press to make delicious juice for us all to enjoy. The photographs show how team work and collaboration helped with this important job. Lastly I would also like to thank the many parents who attended the Parent Information Meetings for Nursery, Reception and Year 1. It is always a pleasure to see you in school and to give you information about what we do. Mrs S Funnell | Head of Pre Prep News from the Pre-Prep Manor out and about
