Crescunda 3

5 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 12.12.2017 It is so hard to believe that we have reached the end of term. All boys in Pre-Prep have done so very well and I can see that they are all ready for a rest during the Christmas holiday! The last few of weeks have flown by in a flurry of exciting activities. To round off their topic about animals, Nursery and Reception enjoyed a visit from Jester the Guide Dog and her owner Julie. Nursery also made wonderful pictures of animals using natural materials. Reception children walked to Moor Park Post Office to post an envelope containing a Christmas ‘surprise’ for their parents and enjoyed a visit from 6th Formers fromMerchant Taylors’ School who spent the afternoon reading with groups. Year 1 and 2 concluded their topic about Pirates with an exciting hunt through the school grounds, following clues to find Pirate Teasure! As part of Forest School they helped to harvest and weave the willow from the dome on the field. Mr Ray was delighted to have such willing assistants and the boys enjoyed learning how to use tools safely to help maintain our outdoor area. Our Christmas performances have been a great success and the photographs give a flavour of both performances. Y1 and Y2 performed with such confidence in ‘Manger Mouse’ and we were delighted by the Nursery and Reception Concert. It was a great effort from all the boys and thank you for all your support supplying such wonderful costumes. On behalf of all of the staff in Pre-Prep, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for everything that you do to help with your sons’ education and for supporting us so whole-heartedly. We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and hope that you all have a wonderful time together with your families over the holidays. News from the Pre-Prep 6th Formers Reading
