16 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 07.02.2018 MTP Science RHS School Gardening Awards We might still be in the throes of Winter, but the first blossoms have started to bloom in the school’s Eco Garden as we look forward to another year of using and enjoying this natural communal space. Pupils from the Eco Club have been out preparing the raised beds, and we can celebrate our Level 1 and Level 2 RHS School Gardening Awards certificates and prizes. The material that gained the school the awards was written and submitted by two of our older boys, and in the image they can be seen holding the certificates, a gardening year planner and a lovely book on the practical aspects of gardening. As we speak, the Eco Club boys are working towards the Level 3 Award, for which the prize is £150 worth of ready-to-plant fruit and vegetable plugs. The aim is to get these in time for planting in the Spring. The school thanks the boys who attend the club for all their hard work and invites any interested pupils from Y5 to Y8 to come and see Mr. De Vynck. The club runs on a Tuesday afternoon after school.
