38 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 07.02.2018 MTP Visits St John’s Adventure Lecture On Friday 2nd February, our Year 8 boys attended the annual St John’s Adventure Lecture. The guest speaker was Lois Pryce, an adventure motorcyclist, who has single-handedly travelled the globe on two wheels and written several books. The boys found her talk inspiring and thought-provoking. MTP Parent s' A ssociation Save the date! The MTP PA would like to share with you some of the fantastic events that we have been planning for you all. • FEBRUARY 20-23 - MTP Literary Festival Book Fair Please join the PA each afternoon between 3.15pm and 5.15pm in the Lalani New Barn Theatre foyer where we will be assisting Mrs Smith in running the Book Fair. There will be a wonderful variety of carefully selected books suitable for all ages for you to purchase. We will also be holding a Uniform sale each afternoon too. • MARCH 13 – Production of “I Believe in Unicorns” We are so privileged to have the production of “I Believe in Unicorns” written by Sir Michael Morpurgo come to our school. This is the enchanting tale about the power of books and one boy’s bravery. Tomas hates reading and school, but his world is turned upside down the day he meets the Unicorn Lady in his local library, a place where the books hold more than stories within their pages… Tickets for the production being held in the theatre will shortly be available via WisePay. • APRIL 27 - MTP PA Comedy Night They say laughter truly is the best medicine, with this in mind we are so excited to bring you our first fun filled Comedy night. Laugh the night away with our fantastic line up of some of the UK’s finest comedians. We can confidently say if you like comedy this is one event that you will not want to miss! This event is strictly for over 18s only! Could we also request that you kindly pass on any unwanted MTP uniform to one of the members of the PA or into the school o®ce after half term.
