29 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 22.06.2018 MTP ThisMonth Year 5 - Expedition Week This year’s Expedition Week took Year 5 back to Abernant Lake in Wales for the second year in a row. The theme of the trip was very much ‘having a go’ at all activities which centred around water sports, climbing walls, team activities to name just a few. For many of the boys it was their first time away from home for four nights consecutively, and it was great to see the personal development of so many pupils throughout the week. Pupils were encouraged to face any fears on the climbing wall with many reaching the top and abseiling back down. Some even learnt to ride a bike for the first time. The water sports included Canoeing, Kayaking and Raft Building which were great fun. There were many outstanding examples of independence, team work and courage throughout the week, all pupils should be proud of themselves for representing MTP in such a positive manner. Well done to all.
