5 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 27.09.2018 Welcome back everyone! We have had a wonderful start to the term and have been delighted to welcome some new faces to our Pre-Prep community. Our new boys have settled in beautifully and are coping extremely well with the routines and expectations of school life. I would like to thank all our parents for the very supportive role they have played in helping with this. In the last few weeks the boys at the Manor have been busy learning the routines of Nursery and Reception life and enjoying all the fun activities that they have to o er. They have begun their topic for this term called ‘Once upon a Time’. We are delighted that the Woodoaks Theatre Company has returned to launch each story for us with a drama session. We began with the story of ‘The 3 Little Pigs’ and the photographs show some of the learning that followed this. In Year 1 and Year 2 the boys are learning through a topic called “Yum, Yum!” As part of this the boys brought their teddy bears to school and they especially enjoyed being imaginative with their bears in the woods. The boys also painted bears, made bear biscuits and learned about how bees make honey, which, of course, we all know is the favourite food of a certain bear! The boys have also been exploring our beautiful school grounds and were delighted to find some late blackberries to pick ready to make into jam! Lastly I would also like to thank the many parents who attended the Parent Information Meetings for Nursery, Reception and Year 1. It is always a pleasure to see you in school and to give you information about what we do.
