14 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 16.11.2018 MTP Parents’Association Welcome back to the start of a new term and we hope everybody had a well-rested half term break. The PA have had a busy first start to the year and we would like to thank you for your continued support. We were privileged to be invited to partner with Dr McNerney in co-hosting a truly superb Drinks reception at Merchant Taylors’ Hall on Threadneedle Street. It was a very special evening and it was wonderful to see so many of you there. We hope that you enjoyed the drinks and canapés and took advantage of one of the tours experiencing the magic of The Merchant Taylors’ Hall. Our first Mufti Day of the year was a huge hit and we are pleased to share that we will be donating £650 in memory of Mrs Visha Bharti to The British Heart Foundation. Mrs Bharti, was a wonderful Year 6 MTP mum who we sadly lost to a heart attack over the summer. Our prayers and thoughts are with her family. Hot off the press, we had a super evening at our flagship annual fireworks spectacular. Fireworks, snacks, mulled wine and lots of fun were appreciated by all. We are really hope that you enjoyed the evening as much as we did and thank you for braving the elements and making the evening so “spectacular”!! Some more dates for your diary… Wednesday 28th November - MTP PA Uniform Sale We hope you would have read the email request for any of the MTP uniform that the boys have outgrown. We would be grateful if you could hand any donations to one of the members of the PA or into the school office ahead of the 28 November. Please come and visit us in the Dovecott House between 3.00pm and 5.30pm to get your shopping fix! Saturday 1st December - MTP/MTS Christmas Fair To get us in the spirit of Christmas we will once again be collaborating with the MTS Ladies Association to host the Christmas Fair. There will be many stalls for you to purchase your Christmas shopping, numerous fun-filled activities run by the MTS boys, a giant Scalextric run by the PA (look out for details on how to be one of our privileged sponsors!), tasty food, a silent auction, tombola’s, a chance to win a £300 Westfield shopping voucher and so much more!
