6 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 14.12.2018 Congratulations to the following boys and groups of boys for winning MVP and MIP trophies this term in the Prep Department: Ahren Chadha, 8J3, for an excellent LAMDA score; Aaron Pascoe, 5L2, for making the most of a trip; Fikunmi Olutunbi, 8W2, for helping new Hockey goalkeepers to get set up; Vincent Cheung, 6L2, for improving his reading; all the boys who ran in the Moor Park Fun Run, led by Noah Browne, 4S and Daniel Drizen, 6L1; Seth-Joshua Chanda, 5W3, for improved organisation and reading; Agastya Daphale, 5J1, for catching up missed work in an extremely efficient way; Sanjiv Vadera, 8N3, for IT; the Senior Choir for the Concert of Remembrance and Hope in Birmingham; Year 5 and 6 representatives in the Barbarians Rugby team; the Year 5 and 6 Science Quiz team for winning their heat; the Percussion and Electric Guitar Groups for successful first performances; the classical readers for great classical reading; Year 8 Maths buddies for supporting younger students, Nathaniel Williams, 3D, for being the first reading millionaire in Year 3; everyone for Genesis Day, which was brilliant. Congratulations also to our Dispositions Trophy winners Kayan Somaia, 7L3, for Concentration in Art; Prithvi Singh Thathy, for Perseverance in reading; a group of Year 7 boys for Empathy in supporting charity by providing conkers. MTP Senior Leadership Team Anti-Bullying Week 2018 The School supported national Anti-Bullying Week (November 12-16) with special assemblies, PSHE lessons, the wearing of Odd Socks to respect individuality and an important pupil survey. Thanks to Mrs Jones and Mr van Straten for their great help. The results: 98% feel happy in school 100% agree the school has taught them about bullying 98% believe teachers/assistants will listen and do something 99% believe they get on well with their peers 97% feel safe in the playground 96% would tell someone if bullied 98% know what to do if bullied
