9 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 08.02.2019 Nursery MTP News fromPre-Prep The Spring Term has started really well and we cannot believe how quickly it is flying by! Christmas seems like a very long time ago! This term we are pleased to welcome Mrs Cooper as our new Teaching Assistant working with the boys at the Manor and in Breakfast and Late Clubs. At the Manor the boys are thoroughly enjoying this term’s exciting topic “Off We Go!” They have been curious to learn more about journeys and different vehicles by taking part in a variety of different activities as the photographs show. The Nursery boys also learnt about the Tamil festival of Pongal. In Year 1 and Year 2, their topic about London began with an exciting request from Paddington to help him find his way around the capital and the boys continue to be fascinated by their discoveries. The photographs show art work inspired by the Great Fire of London and information gained from a Live Stream from the Museum of London. The boys always love their time in the woods and this month we have wrapped up warm to enjoy the wintery sunshine. The boys looked for animal tracks and have learnt to tie knots and use a fire steel; developing the skills needed to put up a shelter and to light a fire.
