25 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 08.02.2019 MTP Sport A busy Spring term got underway with the annual York House Cross Country meet for U9, U11 and U13 pupils. The race consists of each local schools strongest runners, making for a very competitive field each year. MTP highlights of this year’s races came in the U9 competition with Noah Browne and Eashan Pindoria finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively, a fantastic achievement! Well done to all boys that took part in the races in very cold conditions. The term’s Football matches have begun, with U8’s playing their first school Football matches against The Beacon. Our U13 1st-5th teams also played The Beacon in their first round of fixtures, offering this year’s Y7’s their first taste of senior Football. Our U11’s played their first fixtures of the term in week 1 against Radlett, with the Colts side recording an impressive 3-2 victory. Preparations are underway for next terms Cricket with nets sessions taking place, we were fortunate enough to take some of our senior players across to MTS for a joint training session with Director of Cricket Mr McGowan and Middlesex player Ravi Patel.
