17 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 15.03.2019 Book Week - An Vrombaut MTP News fromPre-Prep The boys at The Manor continue to be excited by their learning through the topic of Transport. The photographs that follow show a selection of recent highlights; including Chinese New Year Assemblies and activities, making seed bird feeders in the woods, making vehicles and Sudoku Maths problem solving activities. They also benefited from a visit to the Life Bus where they loved meeting the giraffe! Year 1 and 2 enjoyed a wonderful visit to the National Gallery as part of their topic about London. They were thrilled to see the all sights of London, including the lions in Trafalgar Square. However, it was the beauty of the gallery and the paintings inside that filled them with awe. On their return to school they made their own beautiful interpretations of work by Claude Monet and I am sure you will enjoy the photographs that follow of their work. All the boys enjoyed celebrating Book Week last week. We were delighted to have a return visit from Andy and the Theatre of Widdershins with his new show, Snow White, Rose Red and Bear Brown. The boys also enjoyed an inspirational visit from An Vrombaut, the author of 64 Zoo Lane and Duck Socks and the photographs give a flavour of these events. I am grateful to those parents who came to school to read stories to the boys and would like to thank you all for your marvellous response to this event. We rounded off Book Week with a wonderful dressing-up day and it was such fun to see all of the boys in their book character outfits. Thank you all for the considerable time and effort that went into providing the fantastic costumes. The Nursery boys with author An Vrombaut
