37 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 15.03.2019 MTP History Viking Day Watch out there’s a Viking about! On Wednesday 6th March our Year 4 boys had the thrill of experiencing Viking Day. All the boys demonstrated exceptional creativity as they designed and made outstanding costumes and Viking shields: they looked AMAZING! In the morning, the boys showed curiosity when investigating Viking culture and artefacts. Then they used risk taking and collaboration to play a Viking strategy game: Fox and Geese. In the afternoon, they showed empathy to imagine themselves as Viking warriors: learning about (and holding) Viking weapons; practising tactics with a shield wall; and experiencing a mock battle. Their pre-battle war cry was a frightening sound! A fantastic time was had by all the boys and they behaved brilliantly. The visiting Viking was impressed!
