9 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 05.04.2019 MTP News fromPre-Prep This is been another really great term and I am so impressed with how hard everyone has worked and how much progress all of the boys have made. The photographs that follow show a selection of the highlights of the last few weeks. The boys in Nursery and Reception finished their topic about Transport with some very exciting events that included a visit from a Fire Engine and a Pilot as well as a walk to Moor Park Station to look at the trains and find out how to buy a ticket. Nursery were also delighted that the boys from Year 6 came to the Manor to read them the stories they had written in their English lessons. Year 1 and Year 2 finished their topic about London this week and I am especially pleased to see how motivated the boys have been about their learning at school through this topic. Inspired by the bridges on the River Thames, Year 1 made their own bridges during their French lesson and then described them to their peers, but in French of course! They have also been making the most of the woods too, especially now that Spring is on the way and the photographs show the Puffins super bridges and the Penguins enjoying the outdoors. In Year 2 the boys have been using a variety of methods to research facts about London and the photographs show them busy with this in the classroom. I would like to thank you for your generosity in bringing in shoes for the children in Jinja, Uganda. I will be taking those I have with me when I go in April but please keep collecting as more shoes can go out in the summer. Thank you! Have a wonderful break over Easter and see you all on Tuesday 23rd April. Nursery Mr Patel told us all about being a pilot We all want to be pilots when we grow up! Year 6 boys came to visit us to read us their stories Reading with Year 6
