6 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 05.04.2019 MTP Charity Update Collecting for Calais When the award winning author of ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’ , Onjali Q Rauf, came to visit our school a few weeks ago for World Book Day, she told us about the refugees in Calais and how meeting them inspired her book. 3W were so moved and inspired by her talk that we wanted to find a way to support Onjali’s charity work. We decided to start a campaign to help the refugees survive in the terrible conditions and we would like you to help us! So, our campaign is to collect brand new adult-sized socks, toothbrushes for everyone and Kinder Eggs for the children. You will see our posters around the school reminding you to support our collection. Please bring your donations in as soon as you can and put them in the collection boxes outside 3W, room 1 or in the Pre- Prep foyer. You can bring in your donations before the end of term, and for the first two weeks of next term. The final collection day will be Friday 3rd May. We hope you will support our campaign so that we can share a tiny bit of our good fortune with the refugees who have so little. On behalf of 3W, thank you in advance for your support.
