37 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 17.05.2019 MTP Sport Over the Easter break our annual Ski Trip to Italy took place, with 46 boys in years 6-8 visiting the Italian Dolomites. The trip has become an exciting part of the Sports Department with boys of all abilities able to participate and develop under the experienced tuition of local instructors. This year’s trip included the annual Ski Slalom race with Aaron Sohal (Y8) claiming victory! Boys were exceptionally well behaved and a credit to the school throughout. Places are starting to fill up for next year’s trip already, if you are interested then please contact Mr Todd. 4 U13s and 4 U11s were chosen to represent MTP at the SATIPS ski slalom at Hemel Snow Centre. A tough competition which suits specialist indoor skiers, so well done to our skiers. Cricket season is now underway with victories for our 1st XI over Arnold House in the first round of the IAPS U13 National Cup. Captain Krish Patel scoring 98* and in return breaking an 11 year old record of 658 for the most runs representing Northwood Prep/Merchant Taylors’ Prep, with the remainder of the season to go! Congratulations to Krish on an outstanding achievement. All other year groups have now played their first round of fixtures, with games at all levels against St Martin’s, Belmont, Habs and Radlett Prep. Well done to all boys on a great start to the season, with plenty of fixtures in the coming weeks to look forward to. And congrats to the debutants who received their Black Caps and Capped Numbers, Aran Joshi becoming the 119th capped player by Mr Horne since 2007.
