6 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 17.05.2019 MTP Charity Update Collecting for Calais Many thanks to all the families who supported Year 3’s call for socks, toothbrushes and Kinder Eggs. It was very kind that so many of you chose to donate all three items. The final tally is: Pairs of Socks – 281 Toothbrushes – 322 (& Toothpaste 108) Kinder eggs – 151 Other chocolate – 15 Five full boxes will be delivered during half-term for the next convoy to the refugees in Calais. A big smile and grateful thanks from Onjali Rauf, who originally inspired the boys during her talk on World Book Day, about the experiences that informed her writing of The Boy at the Back of the Class. The book has captured the imagination of children all over the UK who voted it this year’s winner of the Blue Peter Children’s Book Award. A big thank you fromY3W for all your donations!
