49 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 15.11.2019 MTP PA MTP PA Welcome back after a much deserved half term! On behalf of MTP PA we thank you for supporting us for our first mufti day this year. You will be delighted to hear that we raised £516 for the Carer Support Team, the volunteer service that provides both practical and emotional support to the parents and carers in the Starfish Ward at Watford Hospital. We were so pleased to hear from you that this was a charity close to your hearts and one which has made a difference to so many families. We had a brilliant evening at our ‘Fireworks Spectacular’ and from all the happy faces that could be seen, we are sure you did too! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and continued support year after year in making our flagship event so successful. Pearl Li, sister of Jayde Li in Year 2 was the lucky raffle prize winner chosen by Dr McNerney to start our display and what a display it was. We would like to thank all the Committee, Staff and our Parent Volunteers for all their help during the evening - they did an amazing job. We are now looking forward to: THE CHRISTMAS CONCERT (4th December) The PA will be serving you mulled wine, tea, coffee and mince pies before the boys mesmerise us with their performances. SECRETS ROOM (6th December) This is an event we run every other year where the boys can buy Christmas gifts for their loved ones. The Committee has sourced some truly wonderful gifts for you. This year there will be 5 raffle prizes for the boys to win. These include a ‘Grand Raffle Prize’ donated by the Parents’ Association and 4 other super presents that we have had donated by some generous parents. The PA are currently being busy Christmas Elves and helping Father Christmas by wrapping gifts for the boys in Nursery to Year 2, which they will receive at their Christmas party. As always please get in touch if you’d like to find out more about what we do or if you would just like to volunteer at one of our events! Warm wishes Ruchi Kamesh (On Behalf of the MTP PA) The boys wore colourful tops for the PAMufti Day in support of the Starfish Children’s Ward at Watford General Hospital
