7 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 15.11.2019 Remembrance Projects As part of their learning about the First World War, the Year 8 boys were challenged to design a War Memorial. As well as considering the causes of and conditions in the war, the boys have been discussing the way that war is remembered and represented in society. The boys were asked to present their project and explain the significance of its layout and design features. It was impressive to hear the maturity and empathy displayed in their explanations as well as the creativity and perseverance used to design, and in many cases build, these appropriate memorials.
