36 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 23.10.2020 MTP Charity MOVEMBER & BOWVEMBER: MEN’S WELLBEING MONTH November has become Men’s Wellbeing Month with the advent of ‘Movember’. We do not expect MTP pupils to grow moustaches in November but we do encourage them to develop an awareness of physical and mental health. They can ‘tie in’ with Movember by wearing a bow tie rather than their school tie on Fridays in November (13th/20th/27th). By paying £1 each time a bow tie is worn we can send this money to support The Movember Foundation. This is the third year that we have supported Movember/Bowvember. Our antipodean English teacher, Mr Reedy, is credited with suggesting ‘Bowvember’. Parents are also encouraged to wear a bow tie, a bow in their hair etc. Remember, remember, your bowtie for November! Royal British Legion: The 2020 Poppy Appeal We will selling poppies again this year in support of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. They will be on sale on our return from Half Term until Wednesday 11 th November when we will remember the fallen Service men and women killed in conflict. The Royal British Legion provides lifelong support for the Armed Forces community - serving men and women, veterans, and their families. Boys wishing to purchase a poppy should bring in a suggested donation of £1.00. We thank you for your continued support.
