31 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 10.02.2022 MTP Music Young Musician of the Year 2022 The Spring Term saw the return of our annual Merchant Taylors’ Young Musician of the Year Competition. Over 60 boys across the Prep and Senior schools entered this year’s Preliminary Rounds, with 21 entries making it through to the Final on Wednesday 26th January. The boys competed in seven classes (strings, woodwind, brass, drums, voice, guitar and piano), with one winner from each class and an overall winner selected by our adjudicator for the evening, Daniel Browell. The final results are listed below. Each class winner received a prize, with the overall winner also taking home the trophy. However, we are hugely proud of all the boys who took part in the various stages of this year’s competition, and we have awarded each of them either a finalist’s or participant’s certificate.
