48 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 25.03.2022 MTP History The Murder of Thomas Becket This term the boys have been learning about Thomas Becket and his murder just over 850 years ago in Canterbury Cathedral. They looked at the events around the murder and undertook a causation enquiry to consider who should be held responsible: the knights, King Henry II or even Becket himself. As a final task, the boys were asked to design a creative response – either a newspaper or to design a stained glass window for a Cathedral.
