56 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 25.03.2022 MTP Sports A busy February and March has seen much success on the sports field across the age groups. Our U13 Hockey Squad started the term with a Tour of Bath, playing against Dauntsey’s, Prior Park and Monkton Prep Schools. This was the first ever joint Hockey Tour with St John’s School, with both U13 teams combining to travel down for the weekend. The matches were very competitive and the group should be proud of their achievements over the course of the year. Congratulations to all that took part. Further Hockey success was achieved by our U11 Hockey players at the UCS Hockey Tournament. The groups competed brilliantly throughout, managing to complete the whole tournament without conceding a goal, and ran out winners in a tense golden goal final! Congratulations to all involved. This Football term has also seen success in local competitions, most notably our U9A Team who won the annual Habs Football Tournament. This is the first time we have ever won this competition after many years of entry, and is testament to the quality and efforts of the U9 side. Even more impressive considering that two U8 players were part of the team. Other events of note this term include the U13 St Martins Road Race, House Table Tennis, House Volleyball and House Football. We look forward to the remaining fixtures before the Easter break and start to look ahead to Cricket in the Summer term. Bath Hockey Tour
