24 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 14.10.2022 Dominic Sandbrook visited Merchant Taylors’ Prep on Monday 26th September 2022. He has written for almost all major British papers, as well as some international papers. He now writes exclusively for the Daily Mail and the Sunday Times. Sandbrook was nominated as Critic of the Year in the National Press Awards for 2018, and as Comment Journalist of the Year in the British Journalism Awards for 2021. In the past, Sandbrook was a regular columnist for the London Evening Standard and the New Statesman. He has also written a monthly column for BBC History Magazine since 2006. Pupils at the school were able to purchase copies of his ‘Adventures in Time’ collection and were able to have these signed and personalised while getting to meet him. Sandbrook gave a fantastic talk in our theatre to students from Years 3 to 8. Pupils were engrossed in Sandbrook’s accounts of his writing career and his love of history that helped him write his Adventures in Time series for children. Our boys were then privy to a question-and-answer session.
