23 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 16.12.2022 MTP Year 3 Howard Carter Discovering Tutankhamun’s Tomb Year 3 had fun using empathy to imagine that they were Howard Carter, Lord Carnarvon and Egyptian workers discovering the tomb of the lost Pharaoh, Tutankhamun. The boys had a turn being each character, before writing a diary from the perspective of Howard Carter. The boys also described pictures of Ancient Egyptian artefacts using expanded noun phrases.
