How have you found things at MTS so far? I have really enjoyed the term so far. There is so much to do all of the time, and the facilities have been amazing. I have had the chance to do things in the Design Centre that I had little experience of previously, such as laser cutting, plasma cutting, and 3D printers. The DT lessons have been great, and I have enjoyed my option subjects too – I have continued Latin this year, but I am also doing both Greek and Classical Civilisation, in which I have learned more about Greek history. I have also started German, so I have a lot of languages going on. What have you been doing beyond the classroom? I have started attending Drone Club – I already knew how to fly a drone, but we are looking to race them and build them at the club. I have also been attending Debating Society – the debate on cryptocurrency was enjoyable and interesting. Because I enjoy debating, I have started to attend Model UN, which uses the same kinds of skills but you have to think about how individual countries would feel about certain issues and situations. I did Rugby at the start of term, but recently we have been able to switch from that to athletic development, which means more time in the gym working on fitness. What would you say to somebody thinking of joining MTS? There is always something going on. It’s easy to meet people and makes friends, even though I already knew quite a lot of people here, as I came from MTP. Some people think taking the train will be difficult, but I got used to it quickly, and I always meet up with at least one or two friends on the train. This Week Merchant Taylors’
