65 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 16.12.2022 MTP Parents’ Association Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year from the PA Winter has unquestionably arrived, and with that the smell of mulled wine and mince pies, all the festivities begin…. With only a few days left before the boys break up for their Winter break here is a little rundown of what we’ve been up to this term. The MTP Fireworks Spectacular was a massive success and we unbelievably sold out of tickets in one evening. A big thank you for all your support in helping make the evening such a success. It was a fantastic event and enjoyed immensely by everybody that attended. Glow toys, sweets, chocolates and the delicious food and mulled wine were all delightfully received by parents and families from the feedback received. The display itself was exceptional as it always is. A big thank you to all the school staff and parent volunteers that kindly helped on the day. We would also like to express a huge and heartfelt thanks to all those who came along and supported us at the MTP/ MTS Christmas Fair where the PA was in charge of the Giant Scalextric Race Track. Despite the event being a fun filled afternoon there was the serious matter of charitable fundraising and we’re pleased to announce that with the help of our wonderful headline sponsor Blue Alpine Partners and our fabulous cup and car sponsors: Northwood Estate Agents, RIT Chesham Dental Care, MCM Compliance Consultants, RUH Dental, Maitre Consulting Engineers, A Johns Associates Ltd and Travel Counsellors that the event raised £1207.71 for our MTS nominated charity Hertfordshire Mind Network. We could not have run the event without the support of our MTP family. In terms of trophy winners: Northwood Estate Agents won the (Blue Alpine Partners sponsored) trophy for the most winning car, and Shay Dattani (Y7) driving a RIT Chesham Dental Care car won the (Northwood Estates Agents) trophy for the fastest lap time. Santa kindly delivered the Pre-Prep presents early and the PA have made sure these were distributed in time for the festive break. We hope the Pre-Prep boys enjoy the selection of books this year. Please feel free to come along to one of our meetings to gain further insight into the work of the Parent’s Association and find out ways to get involved. School events are a great way to immerse yourself into the MTP family and if it wasn’t for our fantastic parent community and the support we get, we would not be able to hold the events that we do. We look forward to your continued support next year. We wish everyone a merry festive break with their loved ones. We look forward to seeing you back in the new year. Anila Shyam (On behalf of the MTP PA)
